It does not look like I will be able to finish this squib to the degree I would want before I leave for Botswana. So I am posting it on my blog.

The Internal Structure of Reflexive Pronouns

This paper investigates the internal structure of reflexive expressions in English as found in predicative constructions such as: John isn’t his usual self today. The data discussed in the paper support Helke’s (1973) conclusion that reflexive expressions have the internal structure of possessive DPs.
